This image is on the back cover of Salt Shaker Claw Man and the Broccoli Wilds. We actually have three Hermit crabs. The one you see here is Pete. He seemed the most eager to pose for a photo shoot. The other two wouldn’t come out of their shells. You might not know it looking at them, but hermit crabs have very distinct personalities. Pete is agressive and adventurous. He’s not afraid of anything. He’ll crawl around on your head if you let him. Bill is the largest of the three. He likes to keep to himself. Willie is the smallest. We regularly catch him darting from shell to shell. He can’t seem to make up his mind over which one he likes best. He and Pete are fast friends. You can’t keep the two apart for more than a minute.
We’re not sure what jobs we’ll find for these guys in the future. In the meantime, we’re using them for security.
